Add a DNS record to my domains configuration

Hi, i've been getting the same error with google webtools for months now:

Googlebot did not crawl your URL because we couldn’t communicate with the DNS server, or because your server had no entry for your site. This could be because the server is down, or because there’s an issue with the DNS routing to your domain. Please check back later. If this problem persists, check with your DNS provider (often, but not always, your web hoster).

I think the way to solve problem is:

A TXT record is an entry within the Domain Name System (DNS) that provides supplemental information about your domain. You can create a TXT record that proves to Google that you own the domain.

1. Add the TXT record below to the DNS configuration for funforlittlefeet.com.

google-site-verification=d4duDwt6caDYGiH2hQc7oKVvKvbcbWQ7apqFrG5rX2I

2. Click Verify below.

When Google finds this DNS TXT record, we'll make you a verified owner of the domain. (Note: DNS changes may take some time. If we don't find the record immediately, we'll check for it periodically.)

To stay verified, don't remove the TXT record, even after verification succeeds.

How can I do this?

Hi,

That's odd, my colleague Sharif contacted you on the 23rd. Is your e-mail address up to date in your account settings? Have you checked your spam folder?

Hi,

Yes, the management of the sites would still be done through Moonfruit. The only thing that changes is that you'd  be managing your domain names via the Gandi.net portal instead.

Hi I have a similar problem, could you do this for me or tell me very...slowly...how to solve it?!

A TXT record is an entry within the Domain Name System (DNS) that provides supplemental information about your domain. You can create a TXT record that proves to Google that you own the domain.

1. Add ** the TXT record below to the DNS configuration for ** boutiquebridaloutlet.co.uk.

google-site-verification=4PSFURaJr2kbwYJwHknpH4XV8dn9FqGY6qht5X_stk0

*2. Click * Verify below.

When Google finds this DNS TXT record, we'll make you a verified owner of the domain. (Note: DNS changes may take some time. If we don't find the record immediately, we'll check for it periodically.)

To stay verified, don't remove the TXT record, even after verification succeeds.

I have the same problem with all my sites,

www.smartengineering.biz- google-site-verification=xBsmJCIksJ1Zu8v8Mzqx3d0Tu68gW9GxKAAVDCAYawk

www.geckobar.co.uk- google-site-verification=2kFp0OtBRAd2rg7tbQycrA6aw0WiD5fA9MYfoPOIEm0

www.laluciaaesthetics.com/.co.uk- google-site-verification=HjjJeVosHvAadHksSJ0jQTWMCh8hN8\_cagw0bczh5pI

Also please can you tell me how to do this myself as I don't want to have to call tech support every time I want to add a site to a search engine.

Kind regards

Hi Will,

If you have multiple domain names that you want to set this up for, it would probably be easiest if we release the handle for your domains back to Gandi - you will then be able to log into their control panel and set the records up when required. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Google's setup instructions have a specific guide for Gandi's tools.

This would result in your needing to manage the domains through Gandi's site in the future, but the current setup isn't affected by us releasing them. If you want to go ahead, please let me know.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your suggestion, of which I'm good to go with, although, would I loose the ability to edit my sites through moon fruit?

Kind regards

Hi Will,

Not at all - the domains simply point to the underlying sites, so changing where you log in to administer the domains won't affect how you edit the sites themselves.

Hi,

Not a problem - I have released the handle for the domains now, so login instructions will be with you shortly.

Hi,

Your handle doesn't appear to be released - I can't see any request for this under your account at the moment. Do you want us to release it for you?

Hi guys,

dazzerthewazzer: You don't need to use the TXT record option to verify your site for search. If you choose the meta tag option, you can actually paste the tag into a dedication section on the Services menu.

TJ: What you need is actually slightly different. If you can send in a ticket with details of the required record, we should be able to assist.

Was trying to set up Google Webmaster tools and they want to "verify the site":

Instructions:

Gandi.net

This enables us to provide more specific instructions.

A TXT record is an entry within the Domain Name System (DNS) that provides supplemental information about your domain. You can create a TXT record that proves to Google that you own the domain.

  1. Log in to your account for icelandic-creations.com at  www.gandi.net by entering your username and password.
  2. Under the Control panel header, click on the website you want to use.
  3. Under the DNS header, click on manage your zone file.
  4. Under the Zone file customization, click on add an entry.
  5. In the Value section, click Quick Add.
  6. In the scrolling menu Type, click on TXT.
  7. Leave the TTL drop-down as the default selection
  8. Leave the name field empty .
  9. In the TXT Value field, copy and paste the following unique security token:

google-site-verification=hE7D1XjJiMjaY-GajeON7WcQPZr7vZ6RIHLwPLey23A

Thanks, DDur

Hi,

Thanks for confirming. You don't actually need to use the DNS method for this - they should also give you the option to add a meta tag to your site, which you can add to the appropriate section of the Services menu.

Hi,

Could you add to my website www.babyvallarta.com  DNS to use webmasters tools completetly... I got this is in spanish but basically what I need to add is a DNS configuration register to my domain configuration....  Help please...  thanks
