The Facebook Application Key was replaced on September 12, 2011 by the newer Facebook App ID.

Updating this or even adding it can be done by going to ‘People’ on the toolbar and using the ‘Settings’ tab. Towards the bottom of the page you will see the Facebook section where you can 'Link your site to Facebook'.

If you are using the free domain we provide then and do not have a domain associated then you will have no problems with using Facebook Connect. You should see the message: 'Settings OK' beside the green tick symbol.

If you own your own domain and you've set this as the preferred address, then you will see the ‘Invalid settings’ beside the red cross symbol. Click the ‘Fix’ button to correct this.

You will be taken to Facebook where you will be able to setup your own App ID. We will prefill as much information as we can and you can complete the rest. Only a few fields are required. When you have created your Facebook Application, you will be given an App ID and a ‘Secret Key’. These are used to encrypt data that is sent back and forth between Facebook and your site. If you enter each of these in the boxes provided and click ‘Apply’, your site will be ready to use Facebook Connect on your domain.
