Why wont my images display properly in the shop

Hi

My images show as distorted no matter what i seem to do with them in paint.net, i've tried re-sizing, cropping and everything else i can think of but still my images get chopped in half by the restraints of the image box in the shop section. Is there a way to get the image boxes in the shop section to simply shrink the images so that 100% of them are displayed, albeit zoomed out if necessary. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's driving me mad.

Thanks.

Hi Dwood4,

Thanks for posting.

With our Shop feature, all the Products images have the same size (width 100% * height 70%).
For example, if an image is 400px wide, the height of the image must be 70% of that 400px (280px) or the image will not be shown properly.

If an uploaded image has different ratio, it will be cropped.
I'm afraid you can't resize it from the Shop. Should you need to modify a product picture, you will need to resize the image before uploading it.

To clarify, Please tell me the optimum size in Pixels or mm or whatever that my pictures must be before I upload them, so that they will show properly in my shop. Thanks.

Hi,

It's not a case of size, it's the format that needs to be addressed. However, you should also make sure that you keep the aspect ratio, rather than selecting for it to be cropped. You can do that by clicking through to the ProductImage screen and going to the Style tab (see attachment).

Like many others on this forum, in reference to shop images being cropped......I am going mad as to how to best make this work.  Most images I want to use right now are 1200x1600.....when I go to Paint.net to resize them to the format of 100%x70%, it does not work for me, the image becomes very distorted which is far worse than a cropped image so with these pictures I already have it seems (from all I can tell) i will have to deal with cropped. My MAIN question here is....if today I wanted to take  picture of one of my products.....what size or WHAT OF ANYTHING can I do to best do to have an un-cropped, un-distorted image to work in Moonfruits shop?

Any more info would help....I believe I have read all the forums related to these concerns.....still seems like a lot of us can;t figure this out.

Best

Hello,

From what my colleague Mike has advised, your images have the same size (width 100% * height 70%).
For example, if an image is 400px wide, the height of the image must be 70% of that 400px (280px) or the image will not be shown properly. I would advise perhaps trying to resize your image in MS Paint to see if that make any difference at all?

Kind regards,

Richard
