Feedback please - 1000 visitors but no sales!

Hi, I would be so greatful if someone could have a look at my site:

www.thankheavensfor.co.uk

I have had over 1000 visitors in a month but no sales.  Personally, I put it down to the fact that you can't select colour as well as age in the shop, but that could just be my gripe.

Any feedback at all would be so helpful.

Thank you in advance!

Sara

Hi.

I wasn't sure when I first looked at the site what you were offering. It was only when clicking through to other pages that I realised you wanted me to buy the stuff on show. My first thought was this was an online formal hire shop for children.

Your introduction reads,

"Thank Heavens for... is an online formal wear service designed with children in mind."

Although it may be very clear to you, "formal wear service" doesn't mean anything to me, and "service" made me think of hiring rather than buying.

Perhaps listing some formal occasions that you are targeting (on your home page) might also help people understand when they should be considering buying these clothes for their children.  Are there common reasons why someone would want to buy an outfit for a child for a specific occasion rather than hiring something?

Although you might want people to just purchase online, I would suggest that you should encourage people to call you if they have any questions or specific requirements. I'd put a call to action on more pages. If you start getting some calls this may help you understand what people visiting your site are looking for, amend the site and may help you to improve your conversion rate.

1. It was the same for me, did not no you are  trying to get me to buy. ( I would put all for sale on first page)

2. This text is to small (Due to web-based issues, which are soon to be resolved (fingers crossed!), when placing your order, you can mainly only select the size required. To select your colour, please send us an email stating the colour required once you have checked out. Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience, unfortuantely it is out of our hands, but a resolution is in the pipeline!)

3. Your images are not good, your clothing is good but the images let it down. ( do not need to see your home) for good images look at how others do it janedebono.com or not on the high street.com is good to look at how to do it.

hope i have helped, i was in marketing for some time.

Thank you!  You are very right, I was looking at it through my eyes rather than a potential customer.  I will be amending my home page and some other tweaks here and there and we'll see how it goes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my site, your input has been incredibly valuable to me.

Thank you maz40s for the feedback.  I agree fully.  I'll be working on my home page to make it a 'sale' page .  As for the pictures, this has been a bit of a bone of contention, if you can believe it, these are what our suppliers provide and they leave a lot to be desired considering they want us to sell their clothes!

Think I will have to organise a professional photoshoot to get around this.

Thank you again for your time and imput, you have confirmed a few suspicions I had and raised other important issues which I can now work on.

Hi, I would rearrange your pages, I would put your contact page at the end after sizing chart. I would make your sizing chart page 2nd after home, being that most people scroll page by page, so be handy knowing a idea how the measurement work before visiting the shop then have to back out look at sizing then go back to shop. you want a professional look and feel, get rid of the @gmail account displayed on your-site? that doesn't look professionally. you get free mail box, make use of that allowing you to create your own email like info@yourdomain.co.uk looks much more class. if you have to reply to a customer via email it looks better its coming from a company domain email then from a gmail account, not only that if you pick up any malware you most defiantly don't wanting to be spamming your customer, ive never had this issue using the moon-fruit mailbox. i create websites and have had clients with that issue using a pop3 email like Hotmail, gmail etc, you can sync with outlook, I even have mine synced on my Samsung galaxy note, never miss a mail almost instant reply time gives great customer service. that's my input, good luck

I think the general feel to your site is good. My first thought is that your home page is a bit cluttered. I would have less on it, there's a bit too much to read etc.

Your page looks alright to me......maybe a little more colour on your pages and definately 'contact' page at the end. Otherwise, it's all good. Good Luck.

It's a little boring. Needs more color and clarity. I would also work on the sizing of your pages. It is so annoying having to scroll side to side and up and down.
