Hi my comments/feedback for what they are worth, I mean to constructive.

My general impression of the sight is good . I loved the backdrop and the general appearance which is very in keeping with the topic.

You could make the following pages shorter ( so the page isnt longer than your backdrop) : home,forum, contact and news.

Once in the contact page why not have "contact The daily Fisherman" this keeps your title as a theme throughout the site.

I like the Facebook and twitter link buttons ( how did you do that ) I would like to pinch that idea.

Try to get a video clip ( i dont know anything about fishing but I might still like to see a video of the landing of a big fish)  .... just an idea.

Really like the design! Only thing I would say is the paragraph starting 'To date i have only caught a small variety....' is quite hard to read due to the lighting of the background, maybe try another colour for the font?

Apart from that looks great! Where did you get the twitter and facebook icons from? Like the style of them!

looking good Mr. straight to the point as it should be. I only have one criticism though, its the background colour, it makes it look too dark and shadows your hard work. Try playing around with other colours but not that green mate.

 I have checked a few sites so far, and as we all know that the most important is numbers of visitors, so please look at your H1, H2 tags and metadata - mata tags for each page, page title.... and then think about links to your website too.... I know it is timecounsuming strategy but it will pay off.

I liked your site---but it is quite dark with the black background and red letters....possibly a dark grey may be more appealing...But really that is just my opinion and there is nothing wrong with it!  Your business looks fantastic and your comments page is a great asset to your website for future clients.

Its a nice site. Not sure what you want it to achieve (is it a personal site, do you want it to become an authority site etc) so its tough to understand how the seo is being optimised. One thing that the crawlers like (on top of all the other stuff) is text links between pages, menus and buttons look good but a text link is easy for the crawlers to see and give perceived value to the site. You'll see many sites with a bundle of text links in the footer as well as a regular menu up top of the page - normally standard practice on wordpress and other content managment systems. 1.  Home page: I originally wrote a Welcome; and later added "About my films" - but as you see, they run to together. 

2.  Look at the pages: Novelettes, and Plays, and Radio Plays - after carefully building the pages, I realized it appears as though the book images and their descriptions seem to be on a slant that I can't seem to get rid of.

3.  On the same three pages - and including the Films page - if you look between the images and the descriptions, you see this sliding arrow bar - which I did not place there - and cannot figure out how to get rid of it.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think your home page and about me pages are fabulous! They clearly demonstrate your creativity. It would be great to see that creativity carried through to subsequent pages making them more tempting to the eye.

James... I really liked your site... I like the way that you have split the pages into 2/3 and 1/3.

I do wish however that you would use a capital letter I instead of a small i within your text. 
I personally would have used a drop-down menu for the places where you have fished. It would get the visitor there with fewer key depressions.
