Hi People,

I am one of the moonfruit user who find its shopping features very limited but I love the other tools that moonfruit provide. While I was searching alternatives I found Ecwid which is great tool and free tool and support tons of languages currencies, more flexible and customizable and seamlessly integrate with moonfruit page via html snippet tool. I am so excited to explore this so I just wanted to share it with all moonfruit users.

Hello

Does it give you more delivery options?

> Does it give you more delivery options?

Yes. You can use UPS, USPS, Australia Post, Canada Post, FedEx or just set custom rates based on total or weight.

Hey - I've just spent hours uploading my stock into my moondfruit shop! Can I transfer it into ECWID? It looks great.

This sounds very exciting, thanks for telling us about it. It might offer the discount coupons  and shipping options I've been waiting for MF to add. If anyone has used Ecwid could they post their URL so I can see how it looks onsite?

Thanks to kayaerhan3

I too find it very frustrating that there are very limited postage options on Moonfruit. I, like corriesmith would like to see how it looks onsite so can someome post thier URL to show us please.

It would really help if MF could publish their planned release dates for shopbuilder enhancements - that way I can make an informed decision about waiting or looking for another solution - how about it MF?

hey we have now finished our site with ECWID - www.littlerebels.it or www.little-rebels.moonfruit.com

So far so good.

we've also made the jump to ecwid with: http://www.glassatelier.no/#/nettbutikk/4571695538 and

http://hotpotnorge.moonfruit.com/#/webshop/4566734679

Mainly because of 3 things:

  1. weight options available to calculate shipping costs
  2. Taxes option.
  3. Slow webshop upload time (as with all other MF pages)

As a happy plus we got several shipping & payment options incl. order now and pay when collecting, stock management options (also important, tho not critical), and order status notifications & tracking capabilities for the customer. The only thing I'm sorely missing is the products thumbnail in the edit product list interface MF has. All in all, very satisfied with Ecwid and wish Moonfruit had these options to begin with so we would not have had to go through 4 webstore set-ups.

Having said this, there is 1 major setback to Ecwid, the SEO you've built up for your products on MF is totally wiped off Google and Bing once you port it over to Ecwid. There is a lot of leg work involved with getting it back out there, and I am still spending time figuring it all out. Good knowledge of AJAX crawling tech. is definitely a pre-requisite before making the jump.

My advice, keep pressing for improved ShopBuilder enhancements.

At $99/month as I have in excess of 2,500 products I think I'll give it a miss........Just as well use wordpress with woo commerce plug in for nothing except hosting (£3-4/month).
