I've been using moonfruit for about 6 months or so but have been designing for over 3 years, I create corporate logo's, stationery and MF websites or I can give your MF site a facelift if you're not happy with how yours looks. I charge £10 per hour and can do a facelift in about 4 hrs or a complete design (including logo/corporate stationery and complete site set up approx 25-35 hrs work) from £250-£350 - I also design digital scrapbook kits in my other life!! check out my site for examples of work and reviews from clients.

Hi there Penni, I am very interested but limited on what i can spend.

Not sure if i require or need a complete facelift, but for sure need some help as im just not accomplishing what i want my site to look like. Its getting rather fustrating. I would like some drop down menus foor my products, think the paging needs work, i also require a menu at the bottom which i just cant seem to do, i think it looks rather boring and plain.

Think you could help??

thanks, Ophelia

Could you have a little look at my site, and give a quote on a little touch up, bit of redesiging etc. Not wanting much changed, as I am quite happy with the way it looks, needs a couple of things to make it look a bit more professional.

Think you will find this does not work. For one thing there are designers out there that will be a 5 page site for £125 from scratch.

SO WHY PAY MORE FOR SAME THING.  For another thing if you start getting into people asking you queries and you writing back and forth you will end up spending 50 hours a week on that unpaid with no jobs coming out of it at all. Some of them will take up 20 hours of your time and not pay a penny.

for one, you get what you pay for! - the rate I am charging is the lowest rate for a freelance graphic designer at £10 per hour! anyone who works for less - well like I say you get what you pay for!

second  - I always make sure I have all the information I require before starting work this way nobody's time is wasted. the prices I have quoted are worst case scenario where I have designed from scratch everything from logo/corporate stationery/site and populated the site too. If you simply require me to re-design your theme/background/header etc it will actually cost you very little.

third - I require payment up front and have never had a complaint about my work. Infact every client I have had has been extremely pleased with my work and been thrilled at how cheap my prices are in comparison to other designers. In my experience you have to work to earn money and that includes doing a little legwork. I am not afraid of hard work to gain my clients appreciation and my clients often get more than they pay for.

I also wonder what your agenda is? and why the need to post this twice?

just noticed you say '£125 for a 5 page site' my quote of £350 was based on a 35 hr project of approx a 20 page site!

Gallimaurfryuk,

My opinion is that your work shouldn't be payed on a hourly basis, yet, paid by the project. This would be easier for the consumer to pay. Regards,

I'm not sure what you base this opinion upon Nick but in my experience every single enquiry/client has completely different needs and therefore takes a different amount of my time, why would I charge someone who's site simply requires a couple of hours work to tweek the site to make it better, the same rate as someone who requires a site designing from scratch?

So it is not easier for someone to pay a rate which they neither need or can afford.

Nick I just had a look at your site, there are spelling mistakes and also when I clicked on the comment it shows on top of the original post so all the text is illegible.

Hello All,

I have been using Moonfruit and like a lot of its capabilities. The only problem is it is built in Flash. With Mobile becoming more and more popular I am having  concerns. Anyone else having this issue and what are there any solutions or strategies you are using?

I too have concerns about this as flash is on its way out! its also very limiting when trying to use animations on your MF site.

I think however that maybe you should post this query on a support forum and then maybe we can all get some answers from the powers that be. I am a freelance designer and do not work for MF.

Thx

I have created a website using Moonfruit http://thebettingwarehouse.com but my capabilities do not include artistic abilities. I find it difficult completing the task alone as there is nobody to tell me what looks good and what doesn't. Also is is difficult to edit my own written articles as I have written them so even if they do not make sense to others they will to me as I composed them. I have around 500 pages on the site but only about 10% are complete at the moment as it is very much working progress which I add to in my spare time. I think there is enough content to put across the idea of what I am trying to convey. I would like the site to look much more professional. What could you offer me and what sort of price would you be looking at? You can contact me at info@thebettingwarehouse.com
