SiteMaker Release 5.6

Gary
posted this on Jan 26 16:53

Hi,

Here is a summary of what went out in today's update:

Security

- Passwords must now be at least seven characters long when set
- Password strength is shown when entering a new password

Fixes

- Improved File Manager stability when uploading custom SWF files
- Older login widgets now log in new members after registration
- Page-specific meta data now handles long strings reliably

The next release is scheduled to contain some more product updates which we know you have been waiting for, so we're looking forward to that one :)

The update appears to need adobe 11.1 installed to access development pages - for some reason it will not download, and as a result I cannot access my site to change things. Any suggestions?

I had to install 11.1 too, as I couldn't view anything or work on my pages. Thanks to this software update, All my photo's and text have been deleted! Why??? I've spent ours building this sight for nothing... This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi abbie-escort,

Can you let us know at which point you are asked to upgrade? A screenshot of what you see would be extremely helpful,

Thanks,

Gary

I have the same problem with Firefox 9.0.1 - my site won't load, asking for Flash 11.1, but that won't install.  However, Internet explorer 8 had no problem installing the Flash release.   Maybe this is a Firefox problem.. Can we have a fix, as it's commonly used!

Can't access my site either. It says I'm trying to update flashplayer on an unsupported operating system. I have OSX 10.4 and using Safari.

I can't access my site using Safari, it says it needs Flash. Before the update there was no problem with using Safari to edit the site. This HAS to be addressed urgently.

Hi,

I see that you deleted the original homepage this morning - I have restored it for you now; you'll find it at the end of the page list.

HTH,

Gary
